Sjögren’s Blood Donors Needed to Support Research

Living with Sjögren’s syndrome means managing a complex autoimmune condition that goes beyond dry eyes and mouth, often causing significant fatigue, chronic pain, and serious systemic complications.

To better understand how Sjögren’s develops and progresses, researchers depend on blood donors who have been clinically diagnosed with the disease.

Blood, plasma, and white blood cell donations from people with Sjögren’s provide valuable insight into immune system activity, inflammation, and disease mechanisms that cannot be replicated without donor participation. These contributions support ongoing research aimed at identifying new biomarkers, refining treatments, and improving long‑term care for individuals affected by Sjögren’s.

By choosing to donate, you can directly support scientific discoveries that move Sjögren’s research forward and help shape better options for patients today and in the years ahead.

To participate, requirements include that:

  • You must be clinically diagnosed by a medical professional. Confirmation of the diagnosis and/or treatment must be verified with your physician.
  • Be pre-screened to determine eligibility.
  • You’re willing to donate plasma through the apheresis process.
  • You must have a photo ID and be able to provide your social security number or proof of citizenship.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must weight at least 110 lbs.
  • You must disclose if you have ever been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and/or HIV.
